Turmeric Spiced Hot Cocoa

Because we cannot possibly get ALL of our antioxidants from wine and dark chocolate (or can we…?), so try this turmeric spiced hot cocoa for a cup of creamy goodness that gives back. Turmeric has been proven to reduce inflammation, oxidation, pain, lower the risk of heart disease, and so much more. Think magical golden milk latte, but dessert style.

Sip on this creamy, spiced treat any time of day, while reaping the countless benefits that this fragrant spice has to offer. The turmeric is paired with healthy fats (nut butter) and black pepper for optimal absorption, with a touch of sweetness provided by the maple. It contains just 8 simple ingredients, many of them being basic kitchen staples that you likely have in your pantry right now.

How this spiced cocoa is made:

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a small sauce pan or kettle.
  2. Add all of the remaining ingredients to a blender, and top it with the boiling water.
  3. Blend on high until the cocoa mixture is smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick for your liking, add additional liquid and blend again.
  4. Cozy up with a creamy cup of hot cocoa, or double the recipe and serve it to your people.

Pair it with my Chocolate Covered Cherry Power Bars to make it a complete snack!
